Miscellaneous Astrophysical Objects: Best Images

The following is a list of astronomical objects with links to among the finest images that the Jupiter Scientific staff could find on the Internet. If you are able to find a better image of an object, please contact us at admin@jupiterscientific.org. Included below are globular clusters; nebulae such as supernova remnants, planetary nebulae, dark nebulae, reflection nebulae, and emission nebulae; galaxies (spiral and irregular); galaxy clusters; and other astrophysical objects.

If information at the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) or another website is available about an object, then a link is provided. The New General Catalog (NGC) number or other classification is given if assigned. The thumbnail image not only labels an object but also provides what it might look like in an amateur telescope.

Because images open in a new window, be aware that they may pop up in a tab behind your main browser page.

     Enjoy the viewing!!!
