The Virtual Amateur Astronomer®, Image of Venus, Internet Astronomy by Jupiter Scientific
Press Releases |
Using the sky chart generated by Heavens Above, you
are able to locate the planet Venus in your telescope:
It is hard to see any details of Venus, which is shrouded in a thick atmosphere anyway. However, one
can see the phase. By observing phases, Galileo was able to determine that Venus orbited
the Sun rather than the Earth.
The above is brought to you by Jupiter Scientific,
an organization devoted to the promotion of
science through books, the internet
and other means of communication.
